Thank you for your frankness . . . Prior to receiving your response below, I was able to contact a third party which confirmed all that you have just said.

You see, I had to bombard everyone with questions to quickly smoke 'em out . . . to see how they would react; to separate the sales pitch from fact. And I appreciated that you took the time to answer my questions about the 9.2P last week, as well as your response below.

The other third-party information I used in my decision-making process was the Runner's World Treadmill review.

As far as my other questions about warranty service, etc . . . Rory explained all of these to my satisfaction. Anyway, I purchased the 9.6P yesterday, and should have it running by next Friday.

Keep up the good work and this great "factory direct" model.

Before buying a treadmill, I read about all the other machines available and whether or not I would use the equipment on a regular basis. Consumer guide did help in the decision to go with a treadmill. The article stated that although other machines may be good for their intended purpose, the treadmill was the best all around aerobic/cardiovascular type of equipment (due to the fact that it was weight bearing was important.) My son had tried to talk me into something else.

So......my NEW SMOOTH 5.5 arrived last week and he put it together for me (matter of 3 minutes I think) and it was ready to go. I could not use it for the first two nights due to other more pressing duties and I was working on a school paper when I heard the foot action downstairs and there he was on the treadmill. He said, "It sure does the job" and now he has incorporated it into his daily workout routine. He has a home gym also.

I started using the Smooth two nights ago and I am not used to such a quiet motor. The name is so like the machine. Then I tried the five different programs at various speeds and hooked up the heart monitor. I could read my heart rate, distance, calories burned and time every few seconds. That made me stay on longer as I saw what I was accomplishing. I do not have to look for cars, run in inclement weather, twist my ankles on holes or stones in the road, nor pay a fee just to wait in line for a certain limit on a treadmill at a club. Can you tell I am thrilled? AND thank you so much for being so nice and knowledgable. I have told others [about you] and I wish you great success.

Just wanted to make a comment. Since recieving my Smooth 5.0P in late March, I have lost nearly 25 pounds combining good eating habits and working out on this machine. I have got my diabetes under control.

I purchased the SMOOTH treadmill in February 2000 and have been using it 5 days per week since I got it. I am training for my first marathon and bought this treadmill because of the great reviews it received. I am very pleased with the treadmill. I run 6-8 miles each day on it and have found it to be very stable, quiet, and smooth! It is easy to program and I have not had any problems with it. I would recommend this treadmill to a serious runner and a beginner alike.

We have been using our new Smooth 5.5 HR for a couple of months now. Needless to say, I was a bit cautious spending that amount of money site unseen. However, from the start I was pleased and a bit surprised. The stability was very good for the price. My spouse and I are use to gym equipment having belonged to numerous health clubs over the years. The Smooth surpased our expectations. It doesn't have all of the bells and whistles of some machines but we don't run that way. It does have a solid feel, a smooth motor, and a quite operation. We got the solid machine we always wanted at a good price.

Just wanted to drop you a line and let you know how pleased I have been with the 9.1 HRC model I purchased recently. I have been using it for a couple of months now and believe it is every bit as good (and in some cases better) than any of the commercial machines I have used in a gym. I purchased a "Smooth" Treadmill sight unseen after reading the treadmill ratings on your webpage, comparing features of the Smooth with other brands I was familiar with, evaluating the warranty, reviewing the recommendation in "Runners World" magazine, and discussing my needs with your sales person. I admit I was a bit uneasy having never seen the "Smooth" brand in person but took a chance and bought one with the understanding that I had 30 days to return it if not pleased.

I am now in my second month using my new Smooth treadmill and am very pleased with it. In particular, I really enjoy the heart monitor, direct speed bar, duplicate incline and speed controls on the handles, and the stability of the machine when running on it. My wife is a runner and really enjoys running on our new "Smooth" treadmill also. Although she tried several times, she never liked running on a treadmill until we bought this one. I strongly feel this is the best overall treadmill I have ever used. I owned another brand of treadmill before buying this one and travel a great deal where I have used many other brands in hotels across the U.S. and have not found one I like better than my Smooth. The features, functionality and stability are superior than any treadmill I have ever used.

I highly recommend the Smooth treadmill to anyone seeking to buy a high end unit that is very stable and has all features and more of the more expensive well known brands. It is truly a superior product at a bargain price...

The Smooth 8.8 HRC treadmill that I purchased ... is fantastic. One of the best thing about it is that it is so quiet. People can talk about like nothing is running at all. This is my second treadmill and my first being a less expensive one but believe me, it was well worth the extra. I look so forward to my workouts now. Also I was a bit scared of buying it over the net, but it was great also and so easy. I would definitely recommend it to anybody wanting a treadmill.

I purchased a Smooth Treadmill in mid February,and would like to express my complete satisfaction with its performance. I am running four eight minute miles per day at a 3 degree incline. There is no belt slippage rattles or squeaks. The console and controls are simple to read and use. I couldn't be more pleased with this equipment.

Just a quick note to let you know how pleased I am with my new treadmill. As you know I purchased the Smooth 7.5HR "sight unseen". I have actually never heard of Smooth prior to our conversation. Just as you said the deliver, setup and use is as easy as 1-2-3. The controls are well placed and well thought out. I just love the preprogrammed routines, 30 minutes flies by!. Thanks again for steering me straight. I would highly recommend the Smooth 7.5HR.

I bought the SMOOTH [7.5HR] treadmill for myself. I have always wanted a good treadmill to add to my growing list of fitness equipment. I use the treadmill to continue training through the winter months and when I need to be at home to watch the little kids. The big benefit that I totally did not expect came from my better half, my wife. She is now using the treadmill more than I am, and I have been a runner for more than 20 years. She never ever used a single piece of fitness equipment before, but she loves to walk on the SMOOTH. She is even running at over 6.5 MPH for 30 minutes a day! I believe that one day, we will both run a 10K together because of the SMOOTH.

We're extremely happy with the Smooth treadmill! My wife and I use it daily--she walks 2-3 miles 3 or 4 times a week while I run 5-6 miles 3-4 times a week. I am especially satisfied with the stability of the treadmill. I am large for a runner (over 200 lbs) and it's stability has prevented the jarring on my knees, hips and back that have accompanied my treadmill running in the past.
