Adjusta Soft™ Low Impact System
Our
exclusive Adjusta Soft™ controlled low impact system offers outstanding
stability while providing absolute minimum stress to joints and knees.
This is the industry leading low impact design, reducing impact by
365% over asphalt. The Adjusta Soft™ has the following features:
- Allows the entire frame to move in unison with the runner / walker.
This is very similar to an automobile suspension system that minimizes
and prevents the car's body from swaying, rolling, rocking, etc. Floating
decks on some competitors do just that. They float side to side as the
foot strikes the deck. This gives the serious runner difficulty in maintaining
balance on an uneven floating and moving surface.
- The Adjusta Soft™ uses a tri-action system that provides absolute
rigid, safe, low impact control. A high tensile strength (125,000 PSI)
torsion bar firmly attached to the treadmill chassis assures absolute
zero side to side frame flex. It's all vertical control!
- Dual heavy-duty oversized 20mm metric self-lubricating bronze bushings
pivot on the case harden torsion bar and will last a lifetime. They are
precision matched for an exact fit assuring zero unwanted, loose, unexpected
movements.
- The torsion bar is a special alloy steel designed to offer controlled
flexing action in direct response to foot-plant with runners and walkers.
- The leading link torque arm attached to the main frame, with a high
durometer elastomeric synthetic runner shock dampener, directs energy
in controlled 63-degree motion. While adjustment (soft to firm) does
require motor hood removal, the Adjusta Soft™ offer the end user an option
to set low impact response and action to a personalized level.
- The industry's heaviest swing arm is rock solid to prevent unwanted,
uncontrolled flex. Weighing in at 24.43 lb., this is more than double
the weight of a Landice, Trotter, True, Life Fitness, and the majority
of other major brands. The 11 gauge all steel tubular construction and
machine formed, mig welded, and epoxy powder coated with the industry's
best black wrinkle paint. 2 ½" extra wide wheels rotating on hard steel
bushings allow easy transport. Comes with cross bar in the rear to assist
transporting.
How it Works
When foot plant pressure is applied to the solid mounted running deck,
energy is transferred to the twin transport wheels. A controlled reverse
action transfers this high energy to the cross frame torsion bar (acting
as a spring / dampener). To control the torsion bar flex, as it receives
foot plant energy, the link torque arm is attached directly to the heavy
10-gauge steel frame bracket / receiver. In controlling the amount of
torsion bar flex, we incorporate the adjustable shock dampener to minimize
and control energy shock. Much like an automotive shock absorber. It's
simply a transfer of high energy, from foot plant, to the shock dampener
through precise, heavy, all steel, matched components. No wobble, no side
to side motion, all control!
Low Impact Frame Design
The combination of the all steel frame and the elastomer suspension
system make the Smooth 9.1 treadmill one of the lowest impact treadmills
on the market. The all steel frame responds to impact loads by absorbing
and transferring shock away from the runner.
Steel tubing constructed treadmills have virtually zero low impact
frame design / features. They are simply too rigid. While aluminum frames
offer some benefits - low impact features is not one of the. Aluminum
material is soft and has a "dead" effect to high shock loads, in addition
to having a minimum rebound effect. Automotive suspension systems are
always steel constructed due to their responsiveness characteristics,
durability and ruggedness.
High durometer twin dampener blocks, mounted at the rear of the chassis
in line with the running deck, enhances the Adjusta Soft™ system to provide
even more controlled low impact.
The Adjusta Soft™ system is a walkers/runners dream come true.
