The Smooth 5.0 incorporates the new SES (Stability Extension System). This telescoping frame gives the Smooth folding treadmills a very solid feel.

Our treadmill uses a torsion spring for folding vs. gas assist shocks for folding. This makes it lighter to lift and easier to fold down (similar to a hood of a car). Gas assist shocks (similar to a hatch back of a car) are known to fail and often leak.
